Essential of 2015 BMW Vision Supercar:
- The Vision’s rear electric motor is from the 7 Series ActiveHybrid, while the front electric motor system is “feasible,” and the Vision’s 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbodiesel is apparently already in development.
- 0 to 100 km/h in 4,8 s.
- Top speed: 250 km/h
- Weight: 1395 kg
- 356 Hp and 800 Nm torque.
- The technologies furthest from current reality are the lithium-polymer batteries and the Vision’s heat-energy-regenerating system
- Michelin is said to be hard at work developing new low-rolling-resistance tires that also provide good handling
- Don’t expect to have a Ferrari performance, 2015 BMW Vision Supercar is near M3 acceleration, but with super high mileage and low emissions
- The chassis and suspension of BMW Vision EfficientDynamics are made completely of aluminum
- The roof and the outer skin on the doors are made almost completely of a special polycarbonate glass automatically darkening as a function of the light shining on the car
- 181.1″ in length, 74.8″ in width and 48.8″ in height
- A group of selected journalists will be invited this summer to spend some time behind the wheel of this innovative concept.
- A BMW official told the Vision EfficientDynamics concept was “extremely well received and many potential customers have already asked us to build it.” We hear BMW will soon show a fully running demonstration prototype
All above sounds great, will wait for it.
